Chartered in 1996 at a meeting of 26 concerned sportsman, the Adams Chapter of TU includes nearly 300 men and women lucky enough to live and/or fish in this beautiful part of the Northwest Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Our district includes the Boardman, Betsie and Platte Rivers. We’re also within an hour of the Manistee, Pine, Pere Marquette, Rapid and Au Sable Rivers. Most of the time we’re fishing for trout, though we have steelhead, salmon and even carp fanatics. We endorse catch and release, but if you choose to keep fish, please consider “Limiting your kill rather than killing your limit.” It’s a large, diverse, relaxed group with everyone in agreement on one thing: It’s all about preserving our cold-water resources.
Since our creation, we have donated over 200,000 dollars to Northwest Michigan non-profits and schools with the goal of conserving, protecting and restoring our local coldwater resources. We volunteer our time to educate both youth and adults about conservation, as well as to do on the ground stream projects.
